Moving

So we are waiting for our mortgage application to go through......banks can not be hurried no matter how hard I try! Meanwhile I have decided to make a dent in my stash. Today I sewed up 3 Meters of fabric.....only about another 47 to go untill I can fit it all in my cupboards. Iam tempted by the idea of having a tiny sewing space at th new house....that way I might keep it tidier and sew more!

The house is really benefitting from the 'we could have viewings at an time'pressure...despite the fact I am cleaner less at the moment, and I am decluttering everyday!

So what did I sew.....a wrap top tunic fromOttobre,a twist front top from vogue and I lengthened a pretty top that was on the petite side by adding a contrasting band below the bust....I may also ad a contrasting frill to the neck edge to make it slightly more modest.

So I've started a blog

I probably should have done this along time ago, but new technology intimidates me....and I still find it hard to try something new!
Ever since the girls were small I've kept a little black notebook of the funny things they have said and done, little memories that make us laugh.
As the children get older I've found myself remembering all the things my mother used to say....you know like 'life isn't fair' and 'mind the bed bugs don't bite'. And then I heard my sister say 'choke up chicken ' to her youngest and the memories came flooding back  (of her being ill and my mother saying that to her) So that's where the title of the blog came from, I don't want my sayings to be forgotten, I want to have something to remember these years by.....when the things I've made are in the rags pile and the words in our little book of sayings are distant memories.
